Improvisation for Games Masters

Today's standout Game Masters are improvisation maestros who craft dramatic, heartfelt, and at times hilarious stories on the fly, making every player feel as though they are playing an essential part in the narrative. Great improv, however, isn’t magic or innate talent: it is a skill you can learn.

I’ve been practising improv and storytelling for over twenty years and have been instructed by some of the best teachers in the world. And, along the way, I’ve learned a thing or two that can help you to become a more flexible, confident and inspiring GM. In this lecture, I will introduce you to the mindset and techniques that create immersive collaborative storytelling.

We will develop a toolkit that will help you stop over-preparing and react confidently to surprising player choices. By creating a story that belongs to the players, you’ll become the GM who creates your players’ memorable moments.
